About Hampshire

Where it grows

In southern England, across selected vineyard sites in Hampshire and the county’s downland landscapes.

Hampshire is a county-level geographical guide, distinct from the English protected wine schemes used on individual bottles. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier give a useful introduction to its traditional-method sparkling wines. Soils and sites vary, and local producers may also work with fruit from other areas. The county’s vineyard association offers a route into the cellar landscape; the bottle’s actual grape origin and certification provide the more precise wine identity.
