Tibaani is a protected dry amber wine, with Rkatsiteli gaining colour and texture through the Kakhetian qvevri tradition.
Rkatsiteli, with Mtsvane Kakhuri and Khikhvi permitted in smaller roles.
Dried apple, herbs and tea-like spice with a dry palate, breadth and tannic grip.
Tibaani’s protected identity is amber and dry. Rkatsiteli leads, with Mtsvane Kakhuri and Khikhvi permitted in smaller roles. Fermentation and contact with grape skins in qvevri give a different experience from a fresh white made from the same principal grape. Amber colour does not mean sweetness. The protected wine also differs from a broad reference to Tibaani’s surrounding valley landscape, so look for the full appellation when seeking this particular expression.
