Bergerac offers a Dordogne wine journey through fruit-filled reds, fresh whites and rosés with a strong sense of local place.
Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec.
Red and dark berries with herbal detail, a dry palate and rounded tannins.
Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Muscadelle.
Citrus, orchard fruit and flowers with a fresh, dry palate.
Bergerac AOP includes red, dry white and rosé wines. Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec lead the red family, while Sauvignon, Sémillon and Muscadelle introduce the whites. Similarities with Bordeaux’s grapes make an accessible starting point, but Bergerac is a separate origin. The wider Bergerac vineyard landscape also contains other appellations with different sweetness and ageing identities. Read the complete name and colour when exploring.
