Beira wines trace a varied journey across central Portugal, from Atlantic-influenced Bairrada to the sheltered Dão hills and the high inland vineyards of Beira Interior. Explore Baga reds and traditional-method bubbles in Bairrada, Touriga Nacional and Encruzado in Dão, or Síria, Fonte Cal and Rufete near the Spanish border. Távora-Varosa adds another important sparkling-wine tradition, while Lafões offers a quieter valley discovery. Beira is a useful geographical umbrella, rather than one uniform appellation or taste. Follow the specific PDO, PGI or named subregion to connect each bottle with its own landscape, grapes and winemaking approach.
