About Lazio

Lazio wines lead from Rome’s surrounding hills to Lake Bolsena, inland valleys and the Tyrrhenian coast. Frascati introduces the region’s Malvasia-led whites, while sweet Cannellino di Frascati offers a different expression from the same vineyard country. Head inland for the Cesanese reds of Piglio, Affile and Olevano Romano, or discover Bellone and Nero Buono around Cori. In the north, Aleatico di Gradoli and Orvieto add further contrasts. Lazio’s DOCs and IGTs reach well beyond the capital, with both local and international grapes. Follow the complete origin and wine type to distinguish fragrant dry whites, savoury reds, sparkling bottles and sweet specialities.
