Johannisberg offers a celebrated Rheingau Riesling setting, where vineyard slopes and a historic estate give the place name several meanings.
Citrus, peach and floral notes with lively acidity; sweetness and texture vary.
Johannisberg is a wine locality as well as part of the name Schloss Johannisberg. A reference to the village does not mean that every wine comes from the Schloss estate or its vineyard. Riesling links the locality to the wider Rheingau story, with styles ranging in sweetness. Follow the producer and full vineyard wording to distinguish the estate, a particular site and the broader village origin. Historical reputation is useful context rather than a guarantee of identical wines.
