About Tacoronte-Acentejo DO

Tacoronte-Acentejo red

Red

Listán Negro, Negramoll.

Red berries, herbs and peppery notes with a fresh, savoury finish.

Tacoronte-Acentejo white

White

Listán Blanco.

Citrus and orchard fruit, from crisp to more textured expressions.

Where it grows: On northern Tenerife, from the La Laguna area through Tacoronte and the Acentejo municipalities.

Tacoronte-Acentejo DO is particularly associated with young red wines, though its range is wider. Listán Negro and Negramoll are useful local starting points, with Listán Blanco among the white varieties. The denomination covers a defined northern vineyard area rather than all Tenerife. Compare producer, altitude and wine type instead of expecting one universal volcanic flavour.
