This DOC includes wine types built around different grape combinations. Cabernet Sauvignon is central to the principal red blend, while Chardonnay leads the white. Sangiovese, Merlot and other permitted grapes give producers further possibilities. The protected name is distinct from the wider Romagna DOC and from the administrative region of Emilia-Romagna.
