Malvasia
Lanzarote reveals Malvasía Volcánica among extraordinary ash-covered vineyards and stone windbreaks.
Citrus, blossom and stone fruit; dry versions combine aromatic depth with freshness.
Red berries and savoury spice in a dry island red.
Lanzarote DO is particularly associated with Malvasía Volcánica, a distinct variety from Malvasía Aromática. In parts of La Geria, vines grow in hollows dug through volcanic ash and protected by low stone walls. That striking landscape does not define every vineyard system on the island. Explore dry, sweeter and sparkling whites alongside the smaller red-wine tradition.
