Reggiano explores the wine traditions around Reggio Emilia, with Lambrusco-family reds and distinctive local blends.
Permitted Lambrusco varieties and supporting grapes vary by named type.
Dark cherry, berries and floral notes with fresh acidity and gentle bubbles; sweetness varies.
Reggiano DOC is a family of wine types, with different grape rules for Lambrusco and other expressions. Lambrusco Maestri, Marani, Salamino and other local varieties offer several blending possibilities, while Ancellotta is important in some types. The broad name does not establish one grape or sweetness level. Read the specific wine type, Secco or sweeter indication, and frizzante or spumante wording to understand the bottle.
