Evros offers a far northeastern Greek wine discovery, with local Mavroudi adding a distinctive red voice.
Dark fruit and a savoury red-wine structure, with weight and oak influence varying.
Evros PGI belongs to the Thracian wine landscape at Greece’s northeastern edge. Local producers work with both Greek and international grapes, including red Mavroudi. A producer’s Mavroudi wine is a useful discovery, not a compulsory blend for the entire area. The full geographical indication and vineyard details distinguish these wines from neighbouring Thracian origins.
