Alzey wine country links Rheinhessen’s rolling hills with Georg Scheu’s aromatic grape legacy.
Grapefruit, floral detail and blackcurrant-like aromatics, in dry or gently sweeter styles.
Citrus, apple and peach with fresh acidity and a dry or more rounded finish.
Alzey’s vineyard landscape includes named sites such as Kapellenberg, Rotenfels and Römerberg. The town is closely associated with grape breeder Georg Scheu and Scheurebe, whose fragrant whites are worth discovering. Riesling offers another introduction. The village, site and sweetness wording help narrow a wine from this varied inland setting.
