Patras PDO highlights Roditis, a pink-skinned grape producing expressive whites from Achaia’s varied hills.
Fresh citrus and orchard-fruit character with a lively palate; higher sites and careful harvest choices can bring particular clarity.
Patras PDO, also written Patra, is a white-wine origin based on Roditis. It is distinct from the nearby sweet-wine PDOs carrying the names Mavrodaphni or Muscat of Patras. Mountain and mid-altitude vineyards make the area more varied than a coastal-city name suggests. Dry wines are familiar examples, with other sweetness levels also permitted. Roditis’s skin colour does not turn these white wines into a red-grape style.
