Hattenheim offers a rich Rheingau vineyard journey, with Riesling, Rhine-facing slopes and many individual site names to explore.
Apple, peach and citrus with floral detail and fresh acidity; sweetness varies.
Hattenheim is a locality containing several vineyards, not one protected site with a single set of flavours. Hassel offers an example of a south-facing Riesling setting on loess-loam soils. Other vineyards and producer choices create further variety. VDP classifications apply to qualifying sites and member wines rather than automatically to every village bottle. Follow the actual vineyard and sweetness terms to choose between dry, gently sweet or richer expressions.
