Marchigüe is a specific area within Colchagua. Its rolling terrain and coastal-range setting can give different growing conditions from more sheltered inland sites such as Apalta. Montes’ El Arcángel vineyard documents the local red-wine focus, including Malbec and other Bordeaux varieties. The contrast is about vineyard setting, not a rule that all western sites produce one identical style.
