Trasimeno explores Umbria’s lakeside wine country, with fresh whites and the local Grenache tradition called Gamay del Trasimeno.
Gamay del Trasimeno is the local Grenache-family grape, distinct from Gamay Noir.
Red cherry, berries and herbs with a dry palate and rounded tannins.
Citrus, orchard fruit and gentle herbs with a fresh, textured dry palate.
Colli del Trasimeno, also called Trasimeno, is a DOC with several white, red, rosé and sparkling types. Its local Gamay del Trasimeno belongs to the Grenache family, rather than the Gamay grape associated with Beaujolais. Grechetto provides another useful route through the denomination. A lake setting does not make every vineyard identical: slope, exposure and soils vary. Read the full grape and wine type alongside the producer’s vineyard information.
