San Colombano, also called San Colombano al Lambro, is a DOC with a compact hill-country identity. Barbera, Croatina and Uva Rara shape its red blend, while Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vinified as a white contribute to the white wine. The hill is distinct from the nearby plains and from the broader Collina del Milanese IGT. Read colour and wine type carefully: black-skinned Pinot Noir can contribute to a white wine when vinified accordingly.
