Terre di Chieti is a familiar historical wine label for Abruzzo’s southern province, from Adriatic hills to inland vineyards.
Terre di Chieti IGT was cancelled in 2026, while qualifying existing stocks can continue to be sold. Its broad provincial scope made room for local grapes such as Pecorino and Passerina alongside other varieties and wine colours. It was wider geographically than the historical Colline Teatine origin. Older bottles remain an inviting way to explore the province’s diversity. Look at the grape, vintage and producer rather than expecting one fixed Terre di Chieti style.
