Friuli Isonzo follows the river’s stony terraces, offering aromatic whites, textured Pinot Grigio and expressive red wines.

Friuli Isonzo or Isonzo del Friuli DOC takes its identity from a river-shaped landscape of alluvial soils and gravel. Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio show contrasting white-wine characters, while Merlot and Refosco provide red alternatives. Rive Alte and Rive di Giare are more specific origin names within the DOC. River terraces, vineyard position and cellar choices matter, so a stony setting does not imply that every wine has the same taste.
