Okanagan Valley is a broad protected geographical indication containing smaller sub-GIs. Conditions change considerably along the valley and between lakeside benches, hills and warmer southern sites. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling offer cooler-site discoveries, while Merlot and Syrah reveal warmer expressions. A smaller origin or vineyard name can therefore be particularly useful. A winery in the valley may also make wines from other regions, so follow the origin printed on the bottle.
