Pinot Nero dell’Oltrepò Pavese reveals the still-red side of Lombardy’s celebrated Pinot Noir hills.
Red cherry, berries and savoury spice with fresh acidity and fine tannins.
Pinot Nero is the Italian name for Pinot Noir. This DOC identifies a dry red expression, distinct from the separate Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico DOCG and other local wines made by pressing black grapes for white juice. Vineyard conditions and ageing choices shape its balance of red fruit, freshness and tannin. A riserva designation offers another way to explore the denomination without assuming that every bottle has the same oak influence or weight.
