Saussignac offers a rich sweet-white expression from a small group of vineyard villages west of Bergerac.
Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle.
Dried apricot, ripe pear and honeyed notes with rich sweetness and balancing acidity.
Saussignac AOP is a sweet white wine, with Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle among its principal grapes. Hand-picked overripe fruit gives the production story a different focus from a young dry Bergerac white. The small protected area has its own identity beside neighbouring Monbazillac. Compare producers and vintages for differences in fruit, honeyed development and freshness, using sweetness and serving context to guide the choice.
