Lake Chelan combines mountain-framed lake scenery with a varied Washington wine landscape, from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to structured reds.
Citrus, apple and peach with fresh acidity and texture shaped by lees or oak.
Cherry, red berries and spice with freshness and finely shaped tannins.
Lake Chelan AVA is a defined growing area around part of the lake, rather than the entire lake’s administrative surroundings. Lake influence, slope exposure and soils distinguish sites within the appellation. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir offer inviting introductions, with other grapes including Syrah and Riesling adding range. A vineyard statement helps connect a wine to a specific shore or hillside. The AVA does not prescribe a single grape or production method.
