About Curtefranca DOC

Where it grows: In the Franciacorta vineyard area of Brescia province, south of Lake Iseo.

Curtefranca white

Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc.

Apple, citrus and gentle floral notes with a dry palate and supple texture.

Curtefranca red

Merlot and Cabernet-family grapes are representative partners; blends and permitted varieties vary.

Plum, blackcurrant and herbal notes with a dry, structured palate.

Curtefranca DOC is a still-wine denomination within the wider landscape best known for Franciacorta sparkling wine. Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc shape the whites, while Merlot, Cabernet-family grapes and other permitted partners contribute to the reds. A local vineyard name can add a closer sense of place. Read Curtefranca as a distinct wine identity with its own grape rules, rather than expecting bubbles whenever a bottle comes from Franciacorta country.
