Tierra del Vino de Zamora brings old-vine Tempranillo, traditional clarete and fresh local whites to the Duero landscape.
Ripe cherry and plum with firm tannins; ageing can bring leather, spice and savoury detail.
Tempranillo, Verdejo.
Red berries and citrus with a dry, lively palate; the precise red and white grape mix varies.
Malvasía Castellana, Verdejo.
Orchard fruit and floral or herbal notes with a dry, rounded finish.
This is a specific protected origin, rather than a general name for all Zamora wines. Tempranillo leads the reds, with old bush vines part of the vineyard heritage. Rosado and clarete offer contrasting pink-wine traditions; white grapes include Malvasía, Moscatel de Grano Menudo and Verdejo. The appellation’s words Tierra del Vino are part of its name, so do not confuse them with a broader Vino de la Tierra designation.
