Gaillac Premières Côtes gives dry white wine a more focused hillside origin on the Tarn’s right bank.
Len de l’El, Mauzac.
Orchard fruit and flowers with a dry, gently textured palate.
Gaillac Premières Côtes is a protected dry white appellation, distinct from the wider range of wines labelled Gaillac. Local grapes such as Len de l’El and Mauzac offer a useful introduction to its white-wine character. The hillside origin and cellar choices can bring texture and development as well as fruit. The name does not cover Gaillac reds or its sparkling styles, so the complete appellation is an important guide.
