Granja-Amareleja is a named Alentejo subregion with hot, dry summers and demanding vineyard conditions. Moreto is a particularly characteristic local red grape, often encountered alongside other regional varieties. Clay and schist appear in the landscape, with important differences between sites. Traditional talha wines add another route into the area but do not describe every bottle. Read the producer’s blend and method to distinguish a fresh red from a richer or clay-vessel expression.
