Godello
Valdeorras gives Godello a distinctive inland Galician home, with textured whites and fragrant Mencía reds along the Sil.
Citrus, orchard fruit and herbs with freshness and a rounded, textured palate.
Red berries, flowers and savoury herbs with fresh acidity and fine tannins.
Valdeorras DO combines an inland valley climate with varied slopes, elevations and soils. Godello is an inviting white-wine starting point, from fresh young bottles to more textured wines developed on lees. Mencía offers a red-wine contrast, with other local varieties adding range. The appellation is distinct from Bierzo to the east, despite some shared grapes. Follow the producer’s site and ageing details to appreciate differences within Valdeorras itself.
