Sousa offers an inviting cross-section of Vinho Verde, including fragrant whites and lively rosés.
Loureiro, Arinto, Avesso, Azal.
White fruit and citrus with a balance of body and freshness.
Espadeiro.
Bright red-berry aromas and a lively, refreshing finish.
Sousa’s relatively open landscape allows Atlantic influence to reach its vineyards. Several regional white grapes grow here, including Loureiro, Arinto, Avesso and Azal, while Espadeiro offers an appealing rosé trail. This is a subregion of Vinho Verde, not a separate wine recipe. Grape and wine type give the best clues to each producer’s interpretation.
