Girò di Cagliari preserves a distinctive Sardinian red-grape tradition, including rich liquoroso wines.
Red fruit and warm spice; sweetness and concentration depend on the labelled type.
A richer fortified red expression, with sweetness varying by type.
Girò di Cagliari is a separate DOC built around the red Girò grape. Its range includes sweet and dry expressions as well as liquoroso and aged liquoroso types. The name Cagliari indicates a wider protected production area, not simply the city. Read the sweetness and wine type together: Girò does not mean that every bottle is a sweet fortified wine.
