Baden wine country runs through a long stretch of southwestern Germany, linking many landscapes rather than one uniform vineyard setting. Spätburgunder, Grauburgunder and Weissburgunder make the Pinot family a natural starting point. Kaiserstuhl’s hills and the nearby Tuniberg offer different soil stories, while Breisgau follows the Black Forest foothills and Ortenau adds Riesling under its local Klingelberger name. Further south, Markgräflerland gives Gutedel, also known as Chasselas, a particularly distinctive home. Ihringen and Achkarren bring individual Kaiserstuhl villages into focus. VDP estates form one part of this wider wine landscape. Read the actual origin, grape and producer’s approach to explore Baden’s range of fresh whites, textured wines and fragrant reds.
