Colchagua is a richly varied red-wine destination, from Carménère and Cabernet to Malbec and peppery Syrah.
Plum, blackberries and peppery herbs with rounded tannins and a savoury finish.
Dark plum, violet and spice with a generous, textured palate.
Dark berries, pepper and savoury depth with a full, structured finish.
Colchagua includes warm inland vineyards, hillsides and areas with stronger coastal influence. Apalta, Santa Cruz, Peralillo and Marchigüe reveal different parts of that landscape. Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Syrah provide contrasting entry points, with white wines and other grapes adding variety. A smaller area or vineyard name is more informative than assuming one flavour from the broad valley label.
