Neusiedlersee brings Zweigelt reds and remarkable sweet wines to Austria’s sunny eastern lakeside country.
Black cherry, berries and gentle spice with a dry palate and rounded tannins.
Welschriesling is a representative permitted white variety; sweet-wine blends and grapes vary.
Dried apricot, citrus peel and honeyed notes with concentrated sweetness and fresh acidity.
Neusiedlersee is a specific wine-growing region, and its DAC identity now embraces dry Zweigelt as well as defined sweet-white categories. The lake and surrounding Seewinkel landscape form part of that growing environment. A dry red and a nobly sweet white are therefore different, legitimate routes through the protected name. Other grapes and styles from local producers may carry the broader Burgenland origin instead. Read colour, sweetness and DAC category together.
