Hastings River explores coastal New South Wales through Chardonnay, Semillon and the red grape Chambourcin.
Deep colour, plum and dark-cherry fruit with occasional spicy detail.
Generous peach and tropical fruit; oak can add texture.
Warmth, humidity and summer rainfall make site choice and harvest timing especially important here. The region includes varied slopes and soils rather than one uniform vineyard setting. Chardonnay and Semillon offer white-wine introductions; Chambourcin is a distinctive red option whose resistance to mildew suits the humid climate. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot also appear, sometimes together. A winery’s wider portfolio may include grapes from elsewhere.
