Vermentino from steep hills between marble mountains and the sea.
Vermentino.
Citrus, yellow fruit and a dry, gently bitter finish. Sweet and late-harvest versions provide a richer contrast.
Sangiovese, Barsaglina and Vermentino Nero.
Cherry and darker berries with a savoury edge. The local grape bottlings are a good route to something less familiar.
Alongside the white wines, local red varieties such as Barsaglina and Vermentino Nero offer a less familiar side of the coast.
