Colline Teatine preserves an older wine map of the Chieti hills, with familiar places such as Tollo, Ortona and Villamagna.
Colline Teatine IGT was cancelled in 2026, while qualifying existing stocks retain a route to market. The historical name covered several kinds of wine and a defined group of municipalities, rather than all of Chieti province. It is therefore different in scope from the former Terre di Chieti IGT. More focused DOC and DOCG names also share parts of this landscape. An older label’s grape, vintage and producer help explain which side of the Teatine hills it expresses.
