Touriga NacionalAlfrocheiro
Dão combines fragrant reds and textured whites in central Portugal’s sheltered vineyard hills.
Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Alfrocheiro, Jaen.
Floral and berry aromas with freshness, savoury tannins and variable ageing influence.
Citrus and orchard fruit with texture and freshness; lees or oak can add depth.
Dão DOC has its own boundaries and wine rules, distinct from the broader Terras do Dão PGI. Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro and Jaen contribute to red blends; Encruzado is an especially rewarding white discovery. Mountain shelter, altitude and varied vineyard sites influence the wines without making them identical. Compare the producer, grape and ageing choices.
