Volkach invites exploration of Franken’s Main loop, from fresh village wines to named vineyards such as the Ratsherr.
A white style with fresh orchard fruit and a rounded, savoury palate; village and vineyard bottlings show different degrees of concentration.
Volkach is a wine town and starting point for exploring the surrounding Main-loop vineyards. The Volkacher Ratsherr is one named site, while neighbouring villages have identities of their own. Silvaner offers an accessible introduction, from straightforward bottles to more precise vineyard selections. A wine town’s name does not make all nearby vineyards one origin: check the full label when comparing a village wine with a named-site bottling.
