About Hermitage
- Where it grows
- On the Hermitage hill above Tain-l’Hermitage, on the Rhône’s left bank.
Dark berries, pepper and a powerful, savoury structure. Age can bring leather and earthy complexity.
Hermitage whites
Marsanne and Roussanne.
Pear, quince and flowers with a rich texture; mature examples can develop honeyed and nutty notes.
The reds and whites have their own personalities. White Hermitage is made from Marsanne and Roussanne, rather than Viognier.
