Moscato di Sardegna DOC is based on Moscato Bianco, the small-berried white Muscat. Its types include bianco, passito, wines from overripe grapes and spumante. These names describe different approaches to concentration and bubbles. The island-wide designation is separate from Moscato di Sorso-Sennori, whose origin is restricted to two northern municipalities.
