Capri offers a small island wine story, with Falanghina-led whites and Piedirosso reds beyond the famous coastal views.
Falanghina leads, with Greco and other permitted white grapes possible.
Citrus, orchard fruit and floral notes with a fresh, dry palate.
Piedirosso.
Cherry, red berries and herbs with a dry palate and gentle tannins.
Capri DOC identifies wines from the island’s defined growing area. The white is led by Falanghina with other permitted grapes, while Piedirosso anchors the red. Those are different colour expressions rather than one island blend. A wine sold or served on Capri need not have been grown there, so the protected origin matters when seeking a local bottle. Producer and vineyard information help connect the wine to the island landscape.
