Schwäbischer Landwein is a protected geographical indication for wines from its registered Swabian vineyard area. It is a separate designation from Württemberg PDO.
Varies by wine
The specification permits several wine colours and styles, including wines shaped by skin contact. Grape and producer determine the individual character.
The current published specification lists eligible vineyard communes from the Weikersheim area through the Neckar valleys to Metzingen, with a small area around Kressbronn. Bottling and production permissions outside this area do not extend the grape-origin boundary. A regional Württemberg tag alone does not establish this PGI or the PDO.
