Patrimonio is a distinctive northern Corsican origin for Niellucciu reds and Vermentinu whites.
Niellucciu.
Dark and red fruit with savoury notes and firm structure; maturation can add complexity.
Vermentino.
Fresh citrus and floral notes, often with a gently savoury finish.
Patrimonio’s vineyard landscape includes important limestone country, contrasting with many of Corsica’s granite settings. Niellucciu leads the reds, while Vermentinu offers a fresh white alternative; rosé also belongs to the appellation. Dry Patrimonio white should not be confused with the sweet Muscat du Cap Corse origin, even where the vineyard landscapes overlap. Producer and ageing reveal further differences.
