Serrapetrona DOC reveals the still-red side of Vernaccia Nera in a small inland Marche vineyard landscape.
Vernaccia Nera.
Red and dark berries, flowers and spice with a dry palate and supporting tannins.
Serrapetrona DOC is a still red led by Vernaccia Nera, distinct from the separate sparkling Vernaccia di Serrapetrona DOCG. The shared place name and grape make the distinction easy to miss. A dry still red offers a different texture and drinking experience from the local sparkling secco and dolce wines. Read the complete designation and producer’s approach to ageing to explore this less familiar expression of the area.
