Colli della Sabina connects Malvasia-led whites and Sangiovese-based reds in Lazio’s northern hills.
Malvasia del Lazio, Trebbiano Toscano, Trebbiano Giallo.
Fragrant white fruit and flowers with a fresh finish.
Sangiovese, Montepulciano.
Cherry and dark berries with dry, savoury tannins.
Colli della Sabina DOC covers a defined vineyard area rather than the whole historical Sabina region. Malvasia del Lazio leads its white blend, with Trebbiano as a partner. Sangiovese and Montepulciano shape its reds. The two colours make a useful side-by-side introduction to a landscape often better known for olive groves.
