Prieto Picudo
León introduces the vivid red fruit of Prieto Picudo, its lively rosado tradition and aromatic Albarín Blanco.
Prieto Picudo.
Red and black berries with spice, refreshing acidity and a firm, savoury finish.
Prieto Picudo.
Strawberry and floral notes with a lively dry palate; madreo examples may have a gentle natural prickle.
Citrus, flowers and stone fruit with bright acidity and an aromatic finish.
Formerly called Tierra de León, this origin now uses the name León DO. Prieto Picudo is a distinctive local red grape for both reds and rosados. The traditional madreo method adds whole bunches during rosado fermentation and can produce a gentle natural prickle; that does not make the wine a fully sparkling style. Albarín Blanco, distinct from Albariño, offers fresh aromatic whites. Follow the grape and producer to explore the region’s range.
