Montepulciano.
Cherry, red berries and floral notes with fresh acidity, a dry palate and a little savoury grip.
The name Cerasuolo evokes a cherry-like colour, and the wines often have more depth than a very pale rosé. Montepulciano supplies the fruit, with brief skin contact shaping the pink hue. Dry examples make versatile partners for tomato dishes, seafood stews and charcuterie. Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is a rosé denomination; Sicily’s Cerasuolo di Vittoria is a different origin for red wine. Colour and grape offer a useful first clue, while the producer determines the final balance.
