Laurelwood District wines offer a more specific Chehalem Mountains origin, with windblown soils and expressive Pinot Noir.
Cherry, berries and floral notes with fresh acidity and finely shaped tannins.
Citrus, orchard fruit and a dry, textured palate, sometimes with nutty lees-aged depth.
Laurelwood District is an AVA recognised in 2020 and nested within Chehalem Mountains and Willamette Valley. Its defining Laurelwood soils are windblown loess over volcanic basalt. It is distinct from Tualatin Hills despite sharing a soil-series name. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay provide useful introductions, with vineyard elevation and exposure adding further detail.
