Collio’s border hills are a white-wine destination, with Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and blends that reward a closer look at the vineyard.
Pear, flowers and almond-like detail with a dry, textured finish.
Lemon, apple and delicate flowers with bright acidity; skin-contact versions gain a firmer texture.
Sauvignon Blanc.
Citrus, herbs and ripe fruit with a dry, expressive palate.
Collio, also called Collio Goriziano, is an Italian DOC with its own origin rules. Alternating marl and sandstone, locally associated with ponca, shape the vineyard landscape. Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Sauvignon Blanc reveal different aromatic and textural possibilities, while Collio Bianco lets producers build a blend. A skin-contact white may be amber and structured, but colour alone does not establish sweetness or a separate appellation.
