Aglianico
Irpinia offers a broad inland Campanian wine journey, bringing Aglianico, Fiano and Greco together under one regional DOC.
Dark cherry, berries and spice with fresh acidity and firm, dry tannins.
Pear, citrus and floral notes with a dry, gently textured palate.
Citrus, orchard fruit and herbs with freshness and a dry finish.
Irpinia DOC provides a wider geographical frame than the more specific Taurasi, Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo DOCGs. It offers several wine types and grape-specific expressions, allowing useful comparisons across the province. Inland hills, elevation and seasonal differences distinguish sites. The same grape under a broader DOC does not imply an identical recipe or ageing category to a neighbouring DOCG. Read the exact denomination and named type together.
